HEBREW TABERNACLE CONGREGATION Pianist David Deschamps |
|
DAVID DESCHAMPS, a native of Salem, MA,
studied piano performance at University of Massachusetts at Lowell and film
scoring at Berklee College
of Music. He is currently on the adjunct faculty of Hebrew Union
College as an accompanist and has played for Hebrew Tabernacle
and Beth Am in Washington
Heights for 12 years. As a singer, David was the founder,
arranger and tenor in the award winning a cappella group Vox
Bop which has appeared on national television as well as NPR’s “All Things Considered.”
He has also worked in TIME Inc.’s education department and is currently
co-producing a Jon-Stewart-like documentary on America’s voting system
entitled “Electoral Dysfunction.” David currently resides in Dumbo with his partner of 24 years, documentary filmmaker Bennett Singer.
